In the gentle breeze of spring in Guangzhou, a number of hiking hot spots are awaiting visitors to explore. Today, SilkRoadPost introduces three places located in Panyu district for you to take a pleasant trip into the great outdoors on foot.

1. Dishuiyan (滴水巖) Forest Park

The hiking route of the park is paved with asphalt, steps and slabstone with road signs clearly marking the distances of journey. During the walk, you may see people living nearby come and fetch mountain spring water from the flowing streams.

There are also recreational facilities for both children and the elderly alongside a bird sanctuary, where you can observe a good many scarce bird species during migratory seasons.

2. Dafushan (大夫山) Forest Park

A vast land of greenery in the park allows people to climb mountain and cycle here.

And right opposite to a row of bald cypress trees, a children’s playground and a sand pit are open to the public for free.

3. Lianhua (Lotus) Mountain

In Lianhua Mountain, the bushy cliffs are so breathtaking that they were mentioned in an article in the Chinese National Geography, a renowned magazine published by the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Visitors can hike on flat paths along the ancient city walls.

To guarantee a safe trip, hikers are advised to prepare the following items.

①A backpack and two firm, lightweight walking sticks and a pair of comfortable shoes

②Emergency supplies, including band-aids, a blanket and rescue ropes

③Sun-proof products, including caps, cooling-arm sleeves and sunblock

④Quick-dry clothing and a waterproof jacket
