An exhibition on the life of Liu He, the Marquis of Haihun and grandson of Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty (206 B.C.-220 A.D.), opens at the Nanyue King Museum in Guangzhou on January 15, the first of its kind in Guangzhou.

The three-month exhibition showcases 127 sets of 210 cultural relics of the Marquis of Haihun, including rare gold ware and the earliest image of Confucius so far.

With the most gold ware discovered ever in Han tombs, the excavation of Liu He's tomb was one of the most significant archaeological activities in China in recent years.

Liu He was given the title "Haihunhou", or the Marquis of Haihun, after he was deposed as emperor following only 27 days in this role and died at only 33 years old.
