Recently, a number of powerhouses have announced their plans to build businesses in Guangzhou, including Douyin and Alibaba Pictures alongside multiple healthcare companies.

According to the High Quality Development Conference held in Haizhu district earlier, Douyin is planning to locate its South China headquarters in the area, which is expected to be initiated this year.

Presumably, Guangzhou Suigeng Technology Co., Ltd., an affiliated company of Douyin, entrenches itself in Pazhou, an area where high-tech businesses congregate, to develop several industries, such as new retailing business models, ad distribution and innovation incubation.

Meanwhile, a subsidiary corporation of Alibaba Pictures, Guangzhou Xiaoyuzhou (little universe) Film & Culture Co., Ltd. has been set up in Huangpu district. The company's operations include organizing sporting events, creative arts, as well as props and set decoration services of film & TV production.

Also to launch businesses in Guangzhou are a couple of healthcare colossi.

TIDC, a cutting-edge company occupied in research and development of TCR, or T-cell receptor, has started business in CBD of Tianhe district. Established in September 2021, TIDC has secured national patent approval for its core platform.

While Innogen, an innovative pharmaceutical company focused on metabolic diseases founded in 2014, has kicked off its sign-up ceremony on Guangzhou International Bio Island lately. In 2018, Innogen won the first prize of biopharmaceuticals group in China Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition held in Guangzhou.

Currently, the company has become the third in the world and the first in Asia to own independent intellectual property rights for human-derived long-acting GLP-1RA (glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonist).
