To celebrate the upcoming 15th National Games, the 2025 Guangzhou Dragon Boat Championship is taking place on May 17 at the Chengma Luhu Water Sports Center. A total of 25 teams from across the city, comprising 750 participants, will gather at Luhu Lake to compete fiercely on the water.

There are two categories of competition: Open Category 22-person Dragon Boat and Corporate Open Category 22-person Dragon Boat. The event spans two days.

On May 17, the Dragon Boat Championship will feature preliminary races, an opening ceremony, repechages, semi-finals, minor finals, finals and award ceremonies, offering a chance for visitors to watch intense races and feel participants’enthusiasm for water sports.

On May 18, visitors can enjoy a Water Sports Carnival consisting of intangible cultural heritage performances such as "Bamboo Drifting", a kayak performance, a market selling intangible cultural heritage products and water sports experiences.
