He was Xian Xinghai, the "People's Musician". In 1942, as war blocked his path home, fate led him to Kazakhstan. With a violin in hand, he met Bakhytzhan Baikadamov — though they spoke no common language, the stirring melodies born from their strings forged a bond that became a testament to the profound friendship between China and Kazakhstan.
Today, the bows dance once more. Notes soar from the "Friendship Road" in Panyu, Guangzhou, to Almaty’s "Xian Xinghai Street" and "Baikadamov Avenue". These three roads now form strings of harmony, composing a grand symphony for a new era — one of enduring kinship and a shared future for China and Kazakhstan.
From the ancient Silk Road to the modern rhythm of China-Europe Railway Express, to the thriving fruits of the Belt and Road Initiative… Music knows no borders, and friendship bridges all divides!
