Recently, the 2025 National Rowing Championships (Second Leg) and the test event for the rowing competitions of the 15th National Games concluded successfully at the Guangdong International Rowing Center in Zhuliao town, Baiyun district, Guangzhou. The Hong Kong rowing team fielded a 33-member squad for the event. Later this year, the venue will host the rowing events of the 15th National Games, where the Hong Kong team will make their return to the Games after two decades.

Behind this achievement lies the strong support of a coaching team with deep "Guangdong roots", including team leader and head coach Wu Jining, world rowing champions Huang Zhongming and Liang Sanmei, and team doctor Zhang Guomao — all former members of the Guangdong rowing team.
